A. Cypress internal core framework with extra wide stiles and rails creates a backbone "core" for face lumber to be fastened to with screws.
B. 1/4" Luan plywood is fully laminated with Type I waterproof adhesive to both front and back of hardwood core. This creates a balanced framework which stays flat as well as seals the core and allows for no water infiltration. No need for weep holes.
C. Polystyrene insulation in void areas creates an R-value of 6.
D. Exterior stiles and rails are fabricated from clear, knot-free 5/4" stock, that is fully laminated to the core with Type I waterproof adhesive. All 5/4" stock is counterbored, screwed, and plugged. An average 9-foot wide door has over 200 screws in it.
E. 1" x 6" tongue and V-groove stock fits in between 5/4" stiles and rails. This allows for no water infiltration behind the stiles and rails.
F. Counterbore plug - There are over 200 screws in the 5/4" face lumber.
G. Biscuit joinery is used wherever horizontal and vertical 5/4" stiles and rails meet. This ensures a tight joint that won't open up with expansion and contraction.
H. Deep V-groove in center of 5/4" rails creates the appearance of two doors.
